This launch would not have been possible without the help of our models who despite the freezing cold (yes, it gets cold in Greece), stood out with Summer clothes and looked beautiful with our bags. So thanks Yioula, Vasiliki, Jenny and Maria for being so lovely and patient with me while I placed you in awkward places and told you DON'T MOVE! You all look awesome!

A very classic design with a morelle touch. A little bit vintage inspired, I tried to keep this bag as simple as possible but keeping the classic look. Minimal hardware but a LOT of stitching detail. The bag is a good size for daily use and my favourite part is the pockets. Easily open with mini magnetic snaps to throw in keys and change. Seen here in the super soft cinnamon brown leather that you'll find in the shop soon. All heavy brass hardware.

This is the first sample. Since we're producing now the mini truffles and tulips I'll have some of these in about 3 - 4 weeks. If you would like to request one with a specific color now is the time to do it.

In other news, morelle bags come with a free dust bag (effective for orders made from the 14th of November and after)



For those patiently waiting for mini truffles and tulips I'll start adding some to the shop from next week. I'm also producing a new batch of patchwork bags since you all snatched them so quickly.

The opening of my webshop was sadly delayed again. The main reason is that we haven't been able to produce the bags as fast as we thought we would so I can't open the shop with half a collection. I've been using a patchwork the past few weeks myself and I just love it! It's just so easy to wear especially if you're biking. And it fits a lot! I fill it up with my ballet stuff when I go to class so it also works like a small gym bag. Because we're preparing a large collection we're only making a few pieces in every color so don't hesitate if you fall in love with a color. For those of you who loved the teal and forest green ones note that I only have 1 left of each. I also only have 1 of the moss and 1 of the cobalt but could perhaps accept an order for another one. I've had some requests for multicolored ones too. For those who are interested in those note that I'm waiting on some cinnamon brown leather to arrive to finish these but I should have some by next week. More patchwork single colored to come are in midnight blue, cinnamon brown and black.

I should have some truffles added to the shop on Tuesday. The truffles will come in all the colors the patchworks are in and lots more! I'm open to reservations now!

I've had so many requests for the mini truffle I thought I would give a preview of the the new modified design here (it's a sample made in canvas):



It's smaller and slouchier than before, the zippered closure on the top is without a panel and I've included depth so it's "fatter". I found the previous piece did not fall exactly as I would have liked but this edition is just what I wanted. Love it? I'll probably have some of these in about a few weeks time. Don't worry, there will still be time to buy these before Christmas!

Because of the move I didn't have the time to prepare a proper Fall/Winter collection so I didn't introduce any new designs. But I'm working on this now and I'll have some new things up in a few weeks. All the designs are getting upgraded, some modified and I'm going to have some new ones.

The upgraded ones will be the Truffles, the Oysters, the Pochette and the Morchellas. The basic design will remain the same with a few changes to the straps. The Pochette will get a long strap option. The truffles will get an extra large pocket inside along with some other small external changes. The mini truffle and the tulip are getting a massive modification. Don't worry, it's all for the best. The mini is going to get a little "rounder" and the tulip will get a zippered pocket amongst other things.

Now about the new designs I'm not going to say much because they are still just sketches but I can tell you what I've sketched that might turn out to be a bag:

1. A little barrel bag with two front pockets. A very classic design that I've wanted to introduce for ages now.

2. A laptop bag! At first I wanted to make the truffle with padding but then I would have to make it even larger than it is so a whole new design is in the mix. The bag will be like a briefcase size with a middle zippered padded pocket for the laptop. On the left and right of the pocket there will be room for notebooks, phones and whatever else you can shove in there. It'll have both a long and short straps. My goal is to introduce an stylish alternative to boring black synthetic laptop bags.

3. Patchwork bags! I'm saying bag because the same design will come in two sizes; small and medium. And they will also come multicolored and plain colored.

Like I said, these are just sketches. You just have to keep checking the shop for updates.

But it doesn't stop with the designs. I also have exciting news with regards to the materials. I have a new supplier for my leather in Italy! The leather I have chosen is very natural (has received minimal treatment) so it's going very soft and fabulous. I'll also be able to order from any color I want so you'll see an exciting new range of colors such as purple, green, teal and lots of blues. I'm also going to use different linings with each bag so you can say goodbye to the unbleached cotton. In addition, I'm going to buy new and heavier rings and hardware and I'm also going to introduce antique brass hardware.

All this new stuff will effect the prices so there will be a slight increase on the prices. But I promise it'll all be worth it! To prepare the shop for the new items to come I'm having an amazing 15% off ALL items in the shop. Don't miss the amazing deal. The pochettes will make an excellent Christmas present!

The new collection will be released officially with the opening of my new website morellehandbags.com. The opening date is scheduled for November 1st. The website will have a webshop as well and you'll find my complete new collection there. The photos for the site will be done entirely by me with my assistant and model Yioula (see below a photo from a test photoshoot we did a few weeks ago). More updates to come next week!

I had so many requests for a smaller bag, I thought this is just the perfect size and so flexible! I finished the photo shoot for them this morning. I wanted the tulips to be outside with all the other tulips! Surprisingly, 7 am on an April morning it's beautiful and quiet in Amsterdam....

These scarves are 100% silk and are hand embroidered in India. The women making them draw the designs on the scarves first with a pen and then embroider on top of it. The quality of the silk is incredible. The brown one is extremely soft and you can just feel the luxury hugging you. Of course, they are quite pricy, but they are so very special. I think they are a perfect match to my handcrafted bags. I'm also looking into more affordable lightweight cotton scarves. The scarves will be for sale on my new website which will also be a web shop. More on that soon :)
