The Red Bag

As promised yesterday, here are some pictures of what I did with my red fabric:

It's not as bright as it looks, it's the light. This is going to be the handbag for the next collection. It's the same as Large Tote from the previous collection with only some minor differences. The bag has an interior pocket that closes with a zipper. The fabric is lined with interface so it's quite tough and there is a thin layer of foam on the bottom to add stability. It's a huge bag. I've made two more, one in beige and one in dark blue denim.

Next on the list: laptop sleeves. At least I'm making things faster now... I've never taken a sewing class in my life and for the most time I've been learning by doing. I'm just too lazy to read up on stuff. I feel like I'm wasting time. How dumb is that? And even though I'm admitting to my stupidity I still don't do it. I finally learned how to sew relatively straight and I've mastered the art of putting on zippers. Katie Wins! All in all, doing this requires a lot of patience and a good strong back. I have neither. So most of the time I'm in horrible back pain and annoyed. It's all going to be worth it in a week though :)

Sorry about the back pain. I bet your slouching when you sit hours on end at the sewing machine. (i know because i do the same) Stop that! I love that red by the way. How much will you be selling this one for? Can it be reserved :D ? Email me if it can; hehe, I just want it that bad :)

I would love to stop slouching over the sewing machine but the bags wont sew themselves. I've tried talking them into it but they wont listen. I wish I had money and I could just design them and pay someone to do the dirty work!

As for the bag, I'll send you an email. Hey, didn't you say you were going to spend the rest of your vacation offline? ;)
